We never seem to know what to do with ourselves on the weekends. During the week we think about all the things that we want to do, but do not have time for. We say to each other, just wait until the weekend... we will have so much more time and we will be able to get it all done. Then the weekend comes and low and behold we cannot remember what it is that we want to get done.
Well, today was no different. Not even a clue of the things that we 'had' to get done came to my mind. What we did do , however, was go to the beach. We went to the beach and brought along a kite. It is really these days that mean the most. When we got to the beach we started to fly the kite. Mia loved it and is quite good at it, although we have to be careful because a strong breeze may just take her up, up and away. Then we went down to the water and threw rocks in. Mia is still not quite up to walking all the way to the water, but she is okay with being carried. We all went to the edge of the water and ran up the beach and back to the water as the tide came in and went out.
Really it is quite amazing to think that we live so close to this wonderful experience and don't take advantage of it more often. It's these sort of days that make me remember what's important in life after a week of working so hard and sometimes coming up home late and leaving early. Perspective... that is what these days give me!
